Nowadays farmers have a multitude of software programs at their disposal to help them process information and take profitable decisions for the farm. But somehow this wide variety of programs and solutions sometimes complicates decision-making or can even complicate obtaining an overview of farm activities.
Most software programs available in the agricultural sector are highly specialized, and by this we mean that they have a single purpose – either to monitor the fleet, or to calculate the optimal period of spraying, or sowing, or help you calculate the dose applied on hectare, and the examples can go on.
But the disadvantage of using a large number of applications, each for something else, are obvious – for example, they will not exchange data between themselves and the farmer, will not be able to use the information in the most efficient way. There are fewer integrated applications, which offer the integration of more sections of farm and field activity.
It’s faster to have everything in one place.
GeoScan is one of the most advanced and integrated programs that Romanian farmers can use.
It integrates four modules, very important in the activity of any modern farm:
Crop monitoring module

This allows the farmer to be well informed at all times about the condition, health and the development of the plants on his land. Here you can import the maps received after performing the soil analyzes, and by comparing the vegetation images and those resulting from the mapping, the farmer can make valuable decisions for his farm. Moreover, the maps with variable application for nitrogen can be generated, following the satellite images received in this module.
Fleet monitoring module

By monitoring the fleet, we can have a general overview of the activities and works made by the fleet of equipment at the farm. We can see where our machines are, what operator is working with them and what plot is worked, and you can intervene, in due time, if something does not go as planned.
Irrigation monitoring module

Monitoring irrigation systems allows the farmer to see in real time the state of operation of the pivots in the field, as well as their position in the field. More than that, you can receive alarms and notifications, generate activity reports.
The module for monitoring weather stations
The integration of the weather station monitoring module allows the farmer to see the information received from the weather stations installed in the field and on the farm. Of course, we also have several functions integrated here, such as generating reports.
As we can see, in this way, we have managed to integrate at least ten software programs, which can be available separately in one.
In this way, we can integrate data and make much stronger and better decisions. For example, by integrating data from weather stations and irrigation management, you can observe the operating conditions of the irrigation pivot, but also the soil moisture conditions in one place. Then, through satellite images you can see if your decisions have the best effect on plants. You can perform a variable rate fertilization, within this program, and here you can also observe with which is the fertilizer, including what equipment was used for this operation.
We at Vantage continue to integrate all farm information and activities into a single solution and we are open to new challenges coming from farmers.
